Notes & Combos

Somehow a shorter climb than last month: 43 wins, and approximately 5 or 6 losses.

The KoG rank-up was against Branded, but it was kinda anticlimactic (he used Druiswurm too early at the end so I was about to go for game and he DCed LMAO). No idea why he Super Polyed himself, that was something.

But the duels along the way were a lot more exciting, thankfully. Some notable matchups were new Dark Magician, Horus, Shining Sarc, Stardust, Memento, and the random Predaplant player who was my 4th win in Legend 5 (but hit me with 5 interruptions).

Of those,

  • Horus was the hard matchup. I really hated Canopic Protector simply being once per Chain and not once per turn... but I try to bait them with Phoenix on the Canopic Protector and then search Kurikara and it usually works. Despite that, I had 2 crazy duels against them for the YT video.

  • Shining Sarc can be hard as well but they hard-lose to Kurikara if they don't respect it, especially since the Silent Swordsman Zero automatically activates on my turn regardless.

  • Stardust (Starlight Drive) was surprisingly underwhelming. I don't know why, but maybe I don't hate that version of the deck anymore? Maybe it's just a good matchup for Snake-Eye compared to Virtual World.

  • Lastly, Memento can't use Goblin in the start of my Main Phase, so I always have priority to use Subversion, if they don't set 3 backrow, to out the Combined Creation, which tends to be how I break that board. If I go 1st then Nightingale just solos and I can win on the crackback. Some guy tried to go double Combined Creation against me for no reason... he drew Droplet but only after using his Skill.
