Notes & Combos
This list aims to clarify every point about HEROs, whether it's ratios, how to use, timing, strategy, and overall value of the card
Handrip vs Control HEROs
Like with Infernity, Control is the best because it doesn't brick like it's running out of trend, and can play through both Droll and Nibiru. Droll needs to be banned anyway, but I thought I would clarify
Abbreviations
Since I'm not a corporate whitewasher, I reserve the rights to consider only the original names in Japanese, and abbreviate accordingly.
It doesn't matter if you grew up with Jaden, card remakes and references only make sense with the original in mind, being a very Japanese deck with English names, a la Kinnikuman, and the deck uses plenty of those reference-bearing cards.
(For the following parts of the guide, it is recommended you listen to the deckbuilding theme of Spirit Summoner/Caller)
Neos remains Neos to distinguish from ENShuf and other cards
SpacPhin -> Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin
RainDra -> Rainbow Dragon
Air -> Stratos
Quid -> Liquid(man/Soldier)
MirEx -> Miracle Ejector (Excluder)
SoN -> Spirit Of Neos
ECall -> E - Emergency
(S)Poly -> (Super) Polymerization (let's say Yūgō doesn't work because of ARC-V's horrible gag. That show, I swear)
MiraFu -> Miracle Fusion
NeoFu -> Neos Fusion
ENShuf -> EN Shuffle
InCon -> Instant Contact
Lism -> Spiritualism (Poltergeist suffers from the same issue as Yūgo. Not like people would remember it's a Bák card
POTE -> Protection Of The Elements
FavCon -> Favorite Contact
AZ -> Absolute Zero
FS -> Infernal Rage
VT -> Voltic Thunder (he would be "BS", but that's not really important)
Sun -> Sunrise(r)
Aqua -> Aqua Neos
Brave -> Brave Neos
Wake -> You know the one
NeosWing -> Neos Wingman
RaiNeos (from the Skill) -> Rainbow Neos
The Plan
The plan is to make your opponent cry by lightening the deck as much as possible, hopefully drawing Droll and Veiler, while not getting Droll'd or being completely hand and field emptied, thus disabling SPoly.
The Combo
If you think Memento is the only difficult deck, and that EN is braindead, this is your golden chance to change, pal
The following is for going first. Make a mistake and you'll surrender in shame and agony. Take too much time and you'll lose on the opponent's turn. EN isn't for the faintest of heart.
- Reveal something to add MirEj or Quid
- Mill SpacPhin to SS MirEx
- Search ENShuf
- Activate ENShuf to shuffle back MirEx to SS SoN
- Activate Son to add POTE > InCon > NeoFu > FavCon
- Activate Skill to set SPoly and ECall (RESIST THAT TEMPTATION TO IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATE SON)
- Activate ECall from the field to add Quid > MirEx > Air > Neos
- Activate SoN to shuffle back itself and SS Neos
- Activate Poly using Air and Quid as material to summon Sun
- Activate Quid and Sun in this order to add MiraFu and draw 2 and discard 1 (typically an unusable card for that turn order)
- Activate MiraFu using Neos from the field and Quid as material to summon IR. If you could add InCon beforehand with Neos still on the field, activate InCon to summon, activate, and use Aqua from the field as material.
- Activate IR to search FavCon and keep in hand for the moment
- Activate IR to summon Aqua to activate
- NS Air to add MirEx > Quid > Neos
- Rest depends on what you have drawn
- Activate EnShuf on the GY to shuffle 2 of the indicated cards by it to draw what's most likely to be used as fodder for Aqua and SPoly
- Set everything you can't immediately activate (especially FavCon) EXCEPT FOR NEOFU and end turn ready to summon ShinWing on their turn with FavCon.
WITH THAT SAID, going second...
- Never go with the second part of the Skill if you can't summon Air NS with the Skill's priority. MirEx can be reacted before he actually hits the field. You have been warned.
- Since Air pops backrow at resolution, there aren't many adding targets, and it's every HERO except himself, try to chain SPoly to said pop so you can pop 2. You'll likely still need Lism.
- Your materials are immune from Eclipse
- VT has friendly fire enabled and relies on having less cards on your field than them
Commentary
-
RainDra - he can't be discarded if you're asking. I wish I never met him, but it tends to happen. Like Neos, he needs exists somewhere except the GY or banishment, so it can be tempting to use FavCon with them. Doing so, however, will throw the whole match. Better know now than later. You run 1 for predictable reasons
-
SoN - I'd play 1 but the guy has the tendency of gluing to the hand without consent, as well as being useless on said hand, and ENShuf only works from the Deck. Very fun. SoN is the last searched of self referencing HEROs, so you need to use him for POTE most of the time. As for his hand capabilities, it's hard to say whether you'll use him, he'll get pitched, or he'll prove useless (like against Memento).
-
Air - His backrow removal effect is better than the search, but since this deck has sometimes questionable consistency, you'll have to choose the latter in order to play. Him being around is an extra body thanks to SPoly and there is that combo going second, yeah. You run 3 because, well
-
MirEx - He's everything, including the top pitch target of both SPoly and Aqua, thanks to the banishing GY effect. Now, if only the SpacPhins weren't garnets... Run 3
-
Veil - She stops many matchups and is better than Crow at the moment of writing. Run at least 2.
-
Droll - I want her banned. I'd run 3 but Lism offered me no space
-
Quid - Overrated going second because of AZ, he's the main material for the combo, stopped only by Dweller. Run 1
-
SpacPhin - His NS happens once in a blue moon, and you'd rather not draw him, but he's essential for MirEx. You run 2 for the same reason as SoN and Neos. And scream when you draw both.
-
Neos - Fundamental because of FS and ShinWing, usable from hand as material if you get both him on the hand AND field from SoN. Run 2.
-
ECall - You activate to complete the combo, restock MirEx, get extra Air, Neos, or even a desperate SoN. 3.
-
Poly (from the Skill) - Thank 上帝 we don't have to add it to our deck at the time of writing.
-
SPoly - Interactive.
-
MiraFu - Hopefully it's not drawn, but yeah, he allows you to play through Nibiru. 1.
-
NeoFu - Realistically it's for RaiNeos, but you never know. Don't you dare use this for Aqua going first. 1.
-
Lism - The meta demanded it, and you'll be very thankful you drew it. Run at least 2.
-
ENShuf - I wish I always drew it, but deck optimisation disagrees. It's the long arm of MirEx, to nobody's surprise. Run at least 1.
-
InCon - InCon is the most versatile card of the deck, as well as the hardest to effectively obtain without godlike RNG. Even in times of necessity, it can be used as material for Poly in the direst situations. 1.
-
POTE - ONLY WORKS FOR CARD ACTIVATIONS, NOT EFFECTS. It's honestly busted and makes us relevant in the meta. I have nothing else to say except I don't like garnets. 1
-
FavCon - The ultimate clutch to summon ShinWing with and push through Nibiru for the OTK. MirEx, basically. Unfortunately doesn't count as Fusion Summon, thus denying most of Wake's benefits. 1
-
FS - FS means Aqua, ShinWing, and, occasionally, VT. Honestly an obscene card considering he also searches for FavCon. 1
-
Sun - Good at both board making and breaking, needs specific counters to be properly fought, such as Horus. Unfortunately nerfed by the fact most relevant HEROs on the field are LIGHT. 2
-
Brave - Situational Summon due to lack of alternatives and the fact it can search for NeoFu. Has good attack and protection. 1
-
VT - Tremendous Summon off FS, requires finesse in the handling. As for the revival effect, it's probably not happening unless some very niche scenario that never came up in my matches. 1.
-
Wake - Very situational summon like VT useful mostly due to the effect, since the boost is denied by FavCon. 1
-
ShinWing - ShinWing is denied only by TY-PHON, and is your wincon to be used very wisely during their turn, as well as the reason why AZ is overrated at the moment of writing. 1.
-
Aqua - Played at 2 due to the Control setup but can be played 3 of if you want to sacrifice RaiNeos for another rip. Its impermanence is problematic but it can be used as material for MiraFu if you drew it. This card is absolutely terrifying and is going to be hit by the next banlist if Konami has any idea of what they're doing.
Why this late? Real life. Though I do relish in making every late runner's grinding miserable. Was pretty quick this time around. I spend more time climbing ranks than building the 5streak to KOG.
