Notes & Combos
I haven’t played Duel Links for a long time, but I came back after Dark Magician became competitive again. It’s not currently in the tier list, but after playing a few games, I found that the deck can still compete well against Tier 1, 2, and 3 decks. This deck performs amazingly whether going first or second.
I built the deck almost purely with Dark Magician cards. I kept the build minimal to increase the chances of drawing Apprentice Illusion Magician (5 total cards: 3 Apprentices and 2 Chaos). This setup helps me summon Beatrice, Lady of the Eternal to send Magician Navigation to the Graveyard for a negate on the next turn, while also using Farfa, Malebranche of the Burning Abyss for interruption.
Before this, I used to prioritize summoning I:P Masquerena, but she often became the reason I got OTK’d if I failed to use her effect. The same goes for Eternal Soul—I now only use it as a “win-more” card or as a last resort (when u think it safe), since it’s too fragile.
Typical first-turn board: Dark Magician + Beatrice on the field, Magician Navigation in the GY, Dark Magical Circle and Eternal Soul. If I have a good hand, I also set Dark Magical Combination.
