I actually had one of my easiest climbs this month. I was probably luckier than I deserved, but I got there in 49 wins (I subtracted the 14 wins I did in TDGP). I won more coin tosses than losing them, which normally I don't, and I had a 15 WINSTREAK!

My rank-up was just going 1st against Vaalmonica when they opened Lava Golem and I just negated the field spell (both effects) and benched Selettrice from the GY. (Thanks to Steven Freshy, I understand how to beat Vaalmonica, but luckily he didn't have Scelta into Invitare summon from Deck.)

---

Nevertheless, I still had a ton of good, interactive duels, where my opponent opened hand traps that should have been impactful, or Kaijus, or Droplet.

I also felt like this month I had relatively few misplays, towards the 2nd half of the climb. And tbh I didn't time out once! Closest was 10 seconds on the clock against Traptrix on the final day, and 5 seconds on the clock against Chimera on day 1.

Finally, notable matchups: Galaxy, Chimera, Nouvelles, Traptrix, Infernity, Vaalmonica, Snake-Eye, Branded. Out of all these, here were the harder ones:

  • I'm surprised I barely faced Branded, but it seems to be a tempo battle. Once I clog all 3 backrow slots, I just have to outgrind a few bystials and loop WANTED/Silvera to negate Fallen of Albaz.
  • Snake-Eye mirror: just save Promethean as long as possible, save Temple as long as possible. When they go 2nd against you, they're turn player so Knightmare Phoenix won't stop your Temple from resolving, but watch out for Goddess negating your Promethean.
  • Infernity: Stopping Trishula is important, although this month, someone did resolve Trishula due to Droplet and lost, because I benched their Archfiend from GY.
  • Vaalmonica: Unfortunately I always went 1st against them, but going 2nd I would focus on Phoenix pop the Followed Rhythm, so you can bench the Zebufera in the open gamestate before they can meaningfully copy Followed Rhythm. As long as they have no monsters, they can't Link Summon in attack declaration into Duralume to pop your monsters.
  • Nouvelles: They're gonna Kaiju you no matter what, plus they use a skill where you can't tell it's them, so just don't worry about customizing your board for them. All I focus on is chain blocking their final targeting effect so they can't tribute my final attack position monster.
