Notes & Combos

With the arrival of the Diabellstar Snake-Eye engine in Duel Links, most players will probably choose the standard pure version. Instead, I decided to play my favorite variant: Diabellstar Snake-Eye Infernoid.

Thanks to the Skill, I can consistently access Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye and Sinful Spoils of Subversion, giving the deck both a reliable starter and an additional form of disruption.

The combo starts by activating Divine Temple of the Snake-Eye and summoning Snake-Eye Poplar. I then use Diabellstar the Black Witch to search Original Sinful Spoils - Snake-Eye, which allows me to summon Snake-Eye Ash and add Infernoid Decatron to my hand.

Once Infernoid Decatron is on the field, I send a total of four Infernoid monsters to the Graveyard. Three of them are used as the banishing cost to Special Summon my boss monster, while the fourth is the boss I actually want to summon, usually the Level 9 Infernoid, although I can choose the Level 10 instead depending on the matchup.

Most of the time, I summon the Level 9 because, when Special Summoned, it destroys a Spell/Trap on the field and later provides another interruption by tributing a monster to negate and banish an opponent's monster. For this effect, I usually tribute the Level 8 Snake-Eye Dragon, allowing me to recover my Snake-Eye monsters from the Graveyard and generate even more advantage.

One interaction that is not shown in the replays is that Infernoid Decatron copies the effects of the Infernoid monster it sends to the Graveyard. I only discovered this after recording the replays, so you won't see it there, but it is an important interaction that makes the deck even stronger and gives you more options during your combos.

The goal of the deck is to end on a board with around five to six interruptions, combining the consistency of the Snake-Eye engine with the powerful disruption provided by the Infernoid monsters.

During my testing, this deck performed extremely well, achieving a 10-win streak in a row. This confirmed that the combination of the Diabellstar Snake-Eye engine and the Infernoid package is not only fun to play, but also capable of creating strong boards with multiple interruptions.

If you want to see the complete combo lines and how the deck plays in different situations, be sure to check out the replays.

I hope you enjoy this version of the deck as much as I enjoyed building and testing it. Have fun!
