Nothing really interesting to say here besides the increase in use of the Yang zing variant of the deck. Making use of Loading... to float into Loading... or Loading... to go into Loading... 's bounce removal and monster revival which makes getting through Yazi Turn 1 practically impossible for most decks and giving access to plays either by popping yourself or having your opponent destroy Yazi by battle. This variant also does well in the mirror match with Baxia being able to bounce Loading... and the extra float utility of the Yang Zing cards. It lacks the OTK potential it had with Loading... but it is much better with surviving and removal. And since countering Rose Dragon is already something difficult, preparing for mirror matches with a build that should be favorable isn’t a bad option.

While Meklord may not be the Rose Dragon counter that many sought from the so-called “Ultimate Synchro Destroyers,” it has proven to be a well-rounded deck that stands out in a meta that is considered to be lower in power than we are used to this past year. Loading... remains as an incredible bomb that can be searched at will and is well-supported by the deck’s suite of backrow. Meklord still has some glaring weaknesses, such as it’s fragility when it comes to cards like Loading... and powerful defensive cards like Loading... or Loading... . These cards can be overcome by cards like Loading... or even your own Loading... , but it requires an optimal hand to continue to play through two disruptions. Despite these problems, it is more consistent than the majority of the decks in the meta so it continues to hold itself high, while ultimately still falling short of Rose Dragon.

While it took some time, Meklords are now finally at the Tier 2 spot as it is one of the few decks that can stand up to Rose Dragon, as this deck’s consistency skill lets it also play a backrow-heavy strategy. Despite being a good pick for Rose, the deck is not necessarily a counter to the Tier 1 deck, needing to win a coinflip in order to have a good matchup.

There isn't much to say about Burning Abyss other than Loading... hitting this deck like a truck, and the fact that the Top 2 most played decks are backrow-heavy. While many Burning Abyss lists have adapted, often times taking a Yazi off the board becomes too resource draining, especially when it only takes 1 card to make it, and pair with a backrow or two. While still strong, the previous best decks (BA and D/D/D) are slowly being phased out.
