I've played Duel Links since 2020, starting with the Judgment Force main box and staying free to play for the first four years. In late 2025 I started taking the game seriously and moved into competitive decks. I tried Branded, Snake Eyes, and several others, but their complex combo lines never clicked, especially with Duel Links' shortened timer.

I came close many times. During the Tax Dragon era in January and February of this year, I reached Legend 5 countless times, even with a Konami bug on Apple devices that made me lag out of every other duel and derank. I also played at least a dozen King of Games rank up matches over the past year and never made the leap.

Then I picked up Horus. It's easy to play, enjoyable, and the best deck I've used. Some call it toxic. I call it beautiful. I reached King of Games without much trouble and never hit a truly bad matchup. The only difficult spots were going second against Heroes and the mirror match. For the mirror, I played with Kaiba and matching Blue-Eyes accessories so opponents wouldn't suspect Horus, which seemed to help.

The deck is close to optimal. Every card, including the Extra Deck, was used at least once on the climb and played a critical role. Droll and Niburu are your win cons going first. Lava golem is the only normal summon the deck has and it’s absolutely needed at 3x.

If I changed anything, I'd cut SP for IP, Nightmare Phoenix, or an extra Galaxy-Eyes boss. I’m not skilled enough to use SP effectively.

After all those near misses, breaking into King of Games feels absolutely amazing. Hope yall enjoy!!
