Notes & Combos

The addition of Ace Sword Slash and the latest minibox in general has left us in such a gorilla format that I've pretty much given up trying to KoG with Skysavior and decided to try out the latest Ether Dragon slop pile instead. Spoilers: it's really good. All the milling/drawing/recursion effects from the low level monsters is the fuel that makes this deck so explosive. You can very often dig your way into 1-2 backrow going first, and going second the combination of multiple Ace Sword Slash/Ether Dragon pops can threaten significant damage or an outright OTK to just about any board.

I'm using two copies of Evil Dragon because I don't have a third copy. You should probably cut a copy of Balloon Butier or Fadrawl for it instead.

The deck is easy to learn but optimizing how you sequence the Ace Sword Slash cards can get a bit tricky. Don't just go on autopilot with those Ultimate Flag/Ace Sword Slash summon effects and try to strategically position Ace Breaker instead so you can squeeze out more value when possible. There is some room for stylish combo plays with this deck if you like that sort of thing (I do).

The main weakness of this deck is reliability- the skill, while flexible, will not fix your hand if you draw too many of your high level monsters which will sometimes lead to you getting blown out by DM or Wyrms. Also, like with Gradius just leaving a bunch of 2500 ATK beaters on the field is a pretty fragile defense so you need to dig for backrow at every opportunity going first (Amazing Dealer is the MVP for this). On a side note Ether Dragon decks are particularly weak to Dulkmua (the destruction immune Skysavior fusion) and Meteor Black Drake (also destruction immune) and this list has no outs for them but I never saw either monster in my run.
