The Winged Dragon of Ra isn't as broken as other popular Meta decks, but is competent enough to KOG if you master it.

The best part is watching your opponents afraid to summon 3 monsters at once. Decks focused in restrict moves as Shaddoll and Despia have to play slow to avoid The Winged Dragon of Ra - Sphere Mode. Those control decks have to spend so much resources to summon multiple monsters in one turn, and they don't want you to simple tribute them all, so, technically, Ra can control the control based decks. Heh, irony is such a beatiful thing.

The Winged Dragon of Ra can pressure opponents to play either too careful or too ofensive, depending on how much they are confortable and safe to risk everything, they can't play too reckless because Ra have power to wipe their field and OTK, they also can't play too safe because this deck have a good diversity of competent defensive monsters, anytime your opponent must summon 3 monsters to break through the wall you can setup. Don't forget your skill can also get you a copy of Sphere Mode from your deck to your hand if you control no cards in your field.

The secret is to give hope to your opponent during his turn, and despair during yours, Guardian Slime and Hallowed Life Barrier can trick your opponent. Guardian Slime effect help to get one of the two engine spell cards of the deck, the Ancient Chant and The True Sun God. This deck have a total of 9 engines to activate the skill and I built this deck as pure and consistent with just 21 cards to ensure the best use of it.

Of course the deck have weakness, most of they are: Handtraps (Effect Veiler, D.D. Crow and Droll & Lock Bird are combo killers), Trap Decks (Odion new skill: Sanctuary of the King's Treasures), Zombies (that Field Spell Zombie World that don't allow you to tribute monsters, except Zombies), some Direct Attack focused or Stall Decks as Lyrilusc and Shiranui, and those link monsters that can use monsters of both side of the field as material. You can't win everything.

But take in mind, The Winged Dragon of Ra - Immortal Phoenix is the ultimate god in terms of attack and defense. DO NOT FORGET IT, if you setup correctly, this monster, and only this monster, can save you from dangerous situations.
