Notes & Combos

Medium length climb this season! About 71 wins. I did most of the climb early season, and then took a break til Oct 20, and did the rest starting from Legend 5, one day at a time, taking about 4 attempts to make it to the rank-up duel.

Some notable matchups were Blue-Eyes, Swordsoul, Shinobird, and Chimera. Definitely not an easy meta, getting a bit more coin flippy. But I can feel at ease knowing that 90% of my going 1st games are autowin. :-P

• Blue-Eyes matchup definitely relies on going 1st unfortunately, but even if you go first, they can still sack you if you don't actively try to keep TWO live Hexstia negates at any given time. Make sure you can negate twice in the same Chain against Majesty and/or Ultimate Fusion.
• Swordsoul is doable purely because Sphere Mode exists. Literally the moment I put it in, it came up, although it only came up that one time. Still worth it.
• Shinobird was mostly winnable as long as you had Imperm for Amano or the Shinobaronesses, and you want to negate Shrine and Calling, but still coin flippy. (tbh, I think my wins against them have been because they were too poor for Sakitama.)
• Chimera is grindy, and you just want to focus on negating them so much that their fusion spell is stuck in the GY. Then you have the tempo to win. Also bounce the Nightmare Magician, that card is annoying >:-(

--- Some tips to play optimally:

• Primebanshee summoning Kunquery from the deck to negate an Ignition Effect is underrated.
• Two Emulatelf protect each other from destruction, as well as protecting a Manifestation from blowing up.
• Hexstia negate isn't once per turn if you can Manifestation revive in front of the arrow again. It never came up to negate again, but I always did that just in case.
• Silquitous + Kunquery negates 2 attacks.
• A major unknown fact is Kunquery can jump on the Chain at any moment during attack declaration, as long as you control an Altergeist card in that window during that Chain, and as long as Kunquery is in the hand to see the attack declaration (even if bounced for cost). Understanding that will save you 80% of your troubles.
