Playing Tenyi this season has been a little harder than the last. The reason is that many players are packing hate in their decks against Tenyi and Black Luster Soldier, which are arguably the best deck at this moment. Tenyi is very powerful, but obviously is affected by the use of these specific hate cards that are everywhere.

I have seen players including in their decklists Artifact Lancea, Skull Meister or D.D. Crow (I even found one playing these at 2-3-2 in their 20 cards deck). Synchro decks now develop lines of play that summon Ruddy Rose Dragon for graveyard removal. Many Dark Magician decks now play Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer. I even faced a player that used Chaos Hunter in a HERO shell.

With this landscape of hate cards everywhere, the only plan is to try to dodge them as much as possible. I do not think that including staples in Tenyi would solve any of this, so I went with the same list as last season that is only engine.

The climb was harder than usual but not very difficult. I got annoyed by all the hate when I reached Legend 4 and tried out some decks, which got me demoted to Legend 3. I then used Tenyi and achieved a 12 win streak to get to Legend 5, getting into King of Games after trying the 5 win streak thrice.

I cannot tell exactly how many wins it took because I have been grinding a lot of Rush Duel while climbing in Speed Duel rank (if you do not play Rush Duel I highly recommend you to try it out, it is very fun!).

Anyway, I hope that new decks comming to Speed Duel makes hate a little lighter and playing the deck stops becomming annnoying at times. Also, the nerfing of the Three Effects! skill might impose the need to develop new strategies relying on other skills, which adds some more space to explore. However, Tenyi is a very good engine and I think it will see a lot of play in the near- and mid-term future, at least.
