Notes & Combos

Intro: This is my F2P version of the Despia deck. It performs exceptionally well against Blue Eyes and Shinobird. Even with the skill hit, I think it should be at least tier 3. Contrary to popular builds, the aim of the low card count is to brick as seldom as possible.

---

Interchangeable Cards: Consider adding an additional copy of Aluber, Dramaturge, Tragedy, and Quaeritis if you can afford it. MST and Eclipse are optional, but Forbidden Droplet x3 is mandatory to keep a high win-rate. Proskenion and Condemned Darklord were only summoned once or twice on my climb and are the most interchangeable ED cards.

---

Going First: You only need one of these cards in your opening hand to make the best turn-1 board, Despian Tragedy, or Branded Opening. Use the skill to make sure you have both Opening and Tragedy in hand and obtain Despia, Theater of the Branded. Use Branded Opening on Despian Tragedy to summon Aluber to the field. Aluber and Tragedy's effects will activate to get Branded in Red and Dramaturge to hand. Fusion summon Tax-Dragon with Aluber and Dramaturge. Dramaturge will summon itself back to the field. Set your additional spells. The luckiest draw will give you Forbidden Droplet as well.

On turn-2, wait until either your Branded in Red or Dramaturge are targeted for removal and use Branded in Red to target Tragedy in your GY and summon Quaeritis using Tragedy and Dramaturge. Dramaturge will summon itself back again and you now have at least 3 monsters on the board. Wait until Quaritis is targeted for negation or you're prompted to make an action before the end of the main phase, then use Quaeitis's effect to wipe all your opponent's atk points to 0.

---

Going Second:

  • Blue Eyes: Best-case scenerio, you open with Morning star and can wipe out the board before your opponent gets the chance to use Majesty of the White Dragons. Just make sure to get as many cards in your hand as possible and not on the field before doing so. If you don't open with Morning Star, follow a similar path to 'Going First' with maybe a First Darklord summmon to get over high defence points.
  • Shinobirds: If you don't open with Droplet, this will be an uphill battle from the start. Otherwise, proceed as normal and wait for their Baron or Baroness summon to negate with Droplet.

---

Tips: Count on your opponent trying to destroy your fusion monsters. Keep cool and use Branded Opening in you GY to negate.
