The banlist was advantageous for Chimera, removing most FTKs from the game and making Tachyon Transmigration inaccessible for most decks, which was previously the hardest interaction to beat for Chimera. Still, solving the problem of going second continues to be the focus of any Chimera build. Therion has started to "stall" for 1 turn to survive against Kaijus, and D-Hero is able to consistently end on Mask of Restrict. Therefore, another method of breaking boards should be adopted.

The idea of this decklist stems from the observation that destruction protection is not common in this meta. Exciton + Droplet should be able to clear any meta board post banlist (with the exception of D-Hero if they set up Magic Deflector/Solemn Scolding). Sometimes, Exciton by itself or Exciton + Chimera Fusion can be enough. With the skill almost guaranteeing Exciton, it means that only Droplet needs to be opened in the worst case scenario, which is much easier than needing to open 2 or more pieces of non-engine. Monsters are summoned face up by the skill, meaning the Exciton summon cannot be interrupted. Once the board is cleared, although no damage can be done for the turn, just set up normally and no deck can beat the Chimera board on the follow-up, not even the "stall" variant of Therion (contrary to popular belief that Chimera needs Curse of Anubis to beat Therion, which is completely wrong in my opinion).

Going first, an extra Drident to the normal 6-interaction board certainly doesn't hurt. Chimera continues to thrive when it is allowed to set up, with a plethora of interruptions from different locations while being one of the most resistant decks to Lava Golem, without needing to make sacrifices like Therion or a specific setup like D-Hero.

A weakness of this decklist is the inability to beat monsters with more than 3000 defense that cannot be destroyed by card effects. The solution is to run a playset of Santa Claws (the only "Kaiju" not restricted by this skill), but I don't own any. I would run 3 copies of it if I could (it is a Fiend as well so it can be used as fusion material and won't brick going first). Another weakness could be consistency, but that can't be helped without a broken custom skill, at least Chimera is fairly consistent with just the cards.

All monsters in the Main Deck and Extra Deck are frequently used, so it is not recommended to play fewer copies of any of them. Even the 2 Utopia Xyz monsters given by the skill are used occasionally.
