Branded

King of Games from jackal on May 22nd, 2026

Notes & Combos

Reached my first King of Games this month with this deck, and with the Therion hits Branded feels a lot better playing into fields without Hope Harbinger everywhere. Ended up getting a winstreak of 10 on the way, with Legend 5 -> KoG not being too bad either. Golems ended up not being as useful as I'd thought, but every time I took them out I ran into D Heroes/Therion like 80% of games. Beyond that, a few cards are probably worth mentioning:

  1. Aluber/Branded in Red: You WILL normal summon Aluber and you WILL get Veiler'd -- running a second Red lets you tag him out to still get Branded Fusion on the way to Masq, which really helps with consistency now that Veiler is F2P.

  2. Galaxy Journey: A few other decks I've seen use this to get back live Mirrorjade on enemy turn, but I found using it for Albaz instead can often be a better disruption esp if you hold off on Mirrorjade til then (for baiting golems). GJ, Red, and Super Poly is a really hard backrow for most decks to handle, esp w/ a Masq burning them.

  3. Starsource Dragon: A decent Super Poly/Abaz poly target but more niche since dragons aren't used in any of the meta decks. May get better as we move into Crimson Dragon shenanigans. I could see it being swapped for Mudragon though.

We'll see how the new Yusei skill changes things, but Branded seems to be in a pretty good spot as a high rogue deck with great potential for KoG. I think I'll keep playing it next season, or make some minor tweaks to make use of the new Labyrinth cards.
