Notes & Combos
Hello everyone. Welcome back to another one of my Altergeist decklists. Before we begin, I should give you guys some updates. First off, I graduated university (May 8, 2026) so I officially have my degree to be named Dr. and with straight A's too! All that research paid off. I've been taking it easy and chilling in the meantime. I need the break. Anyways, let's get to the deck write-up. I'll answer questions as needed here.
To be honest, I feel like I am the only Altergeist player left in the community. It makes me sad how dead this deck is, but the advantage on this deck being dead is that the deck is basically tied to me now (since I'm the only one updating it) and also how literally no one knows how to play against this deck. I mean, it's ladder. People will misplay against Altergeists a lot and not know what to negate. I've been playing this deck for 9 years (since 2017), so I know Geist inside and out. That being said, this was by far my hardest King of Games climb to date. Yusei's Stardust deck is borderline tier zero, meaning if you didn't hard open Stygian Dirge or Discord, you may as well scoop since an unrespondable Satellite Warrior board wipe is coming your way. It's crazy how I don't have Protocol or Adminia to deal with monsters while Yusei is able to end on triple Shooting Quasar Dragon turn one. I feel like Protocol needs to come at this point given the endboards people are making.
For new additions, Powersink Stone was MVP here at shutting off enemy monster effects and making the turn guarantee pass back to me. Don't sleep on Powersink Stone. I then cut Infinite Impermanence to two so I can slot in more anti-Synchro techs to deal with Yusei. Thank God ladder opponents haven't caught on to Trap Eater yet, thus letting my anti-Synchro floodgates steal free wins. Fullmetalfoes Alkahest was to deal with Destiny HERO Neko Mane King turn skip should they call level one off of Extra Gate. However, Destiny HERO has pretty much died out by now, so the Alkahest tech did not come up once. It's pretty much all Yusei now.
And that just about covers everything. Everything else is standard Altergeist. My past five duels to KoG were Stardust, Stardust, a Yami Bakura bot, Spright (Lumis & Umbra), and my KoG duel to finish it was Stardust. Thankfully my Yusei opponent bricked on x2 Book of Moon, Powersink Stone, and Effect Veiler. If Altergeist gets more of its missing support, I'll be covering it here. I just hope Protocol, Adminia, and Malwisp come.
Replays
For replays, I'm going to try something new. Instead of tossing an in-game replay here, I'll put the YouTube link here. I compiled my best duels for this month's run in a full video, going 8/0. It was basically all Stardust and Resonator. Enjoy! I am still hoping that Altergeist support is on Konami's radar. This deck deserves its missing playmakers. Also, a huge shoutout to BlairVVitchProject for keeping me sane on this KoG run in this awful format.
