Notes & Combos
after heros spamming different dimension ground, powersink stone and necrovalley denied my kog rank-up 3 times (coincidentally also the average number of brain cells the users of that deck have) my hope began to falter. yet we persevered and as i came back for my 4th rank-up attempt i stared the dino endboard of utc, overtex and herald in the face and i believed.
heart of the cards, guide me.
ironically didn’t see any heros in the final run but lowkey disappointed as the first 3 runs + leg 2-4 had much more exciting replays vs meta decks (decking out ancient gear, 3 winstreak vs resonators going second each time and even beating hero through nv + ddg one time). that being said, i had my fair share of not-so-great games via bricking, folding to veiler and the deck just generally not having as high a power level vs current meta.
the lord giveth, and the lord taketh away.
droplet is the real mvp of this deck - breaks boards, dodges interruption, enables extensions and denies otks. i spent 75% of my games praying i drew into it t1/t2. cc was originally just at 1 + 3 veiler but switched to 3 cc + 1 nib after being bitched by necrovalley too many times. cc was live most of the time as there’s a lot of backrow in the meta rn + also great to send with droplet. struggles going second vs resonators (even with a god hand they can bounce back most of the time) which is where nib came in clutch (when i actually drew it). just x4 one-card starters as the skill helps with consistency and ak > recycler as it helps fulfil the skill requirements giving more room for techs which are needed to bring the game state down to where orcust can clean up. orcustrion was the ed mvp, stole so many wins as few players expect it (and even fewer read its effect). this deck still bricks as it doesn’t have an op skill - and no i don’t think a deck like orcust needs an op skill. in the words of paarthunax:
what is better: to be born good? or to overcome your evil nature through great effort?
