Notes & Combos
We're still in the cheesy OTK meta until the skill changes are implemented, so I climbed with a cheesy OTK deck. Couldn't be bothered to play a fun grindy deck in the current meta :/
This take on Ganleon is more aggressive than the previous passive one, Secret Order let's you remove immediate threats like Ashurastar/Vristrastar/Miragiastar etc. and enables stalling another turn or two in case you didn't draw all your pieces yet, while not sacrificing backrow removal due to Dark Magic Attack. There is also synergy through Dark Magician's Curtain of course too.
I tried Kuribot, in general he fits nicely with the deck concept, but he's too slow for the pre-skill changes meta, I rarely used his effect and his stats are horrible, so I threw Clycliptron & Star Replacer in to help control damage intake. Another benefit of using them & the Dark Magician engine is that they likely confused people already familiar with the Ganleon concept, I noticed less hesitation from others, than when I play the "pure" Ganleon version, which helped keep the surprise factor during the climb.
All-in-all rough climb against a lot of Gaia Metarion, but managed to pull it off and get Sepia for Ganleon along the way xD
On the bright side I won the vast majority of duels against non-Gaia decks, so this may be fun to try out soon.
Enjoy :)
