Notes & Combos
**FIRST CHAPTER: MEMORY LANE **
Where to begin ? Thundersan says the climb was easy, for me it was filled with tears Let’s recap and remember, as best as possible, the opponent’s I faced during the climb.
For the first 10 days, give or take, I faced Yuseis one after the other. By that time, the deck I was playing was different. I quickly realized when you get golem and you are left with dragite you lose. Simply as that.
So, I was reminded why crow is so good in this deck. You get to banish stuff that they revive, whatever that might be quillbolt or traptrix or galaxy, but the best part is when golden effect’s becomes live in grave.
After that, the rest of the days until almost the last, were against traptrix, galaxy and female mokuba.
SECOND CHAPTER: CARD CHOICES
As a said before, crow has the best synergy with the deck, and it works against most of the meta. Also, we have many decks that are heavily depending on monsters, so I had one more copy of droplet. For this deck every card can become a brick as a result I didn’t put in a third copy of droplet.
I even bricked playing 22c and reduced it at one point by one copy of crow. Also, I was playing trunade which is a good card.
This deck I post is the result of mostly facing galaxy and female mokuba, for the past 4 or 5 days. Droll is really good against slop mechanics, BOE along with Droplet is the most broken combination and when you don’t know what deck mokuba is playing the best you can do is shut down his draws.
THIRD CHAPTER: TIPS
So, what I learned from this journey?
Against Mokuba Get rid of mystical elf as soon as you got the chance. You use chixiao effect to negate the first monster the opponent is putting, fuse into Albion the branded, summon Mirrorjade.
Sometimes the opponent enables his draw by the skill as soon as he can. However negating your own monster to get rid of mystical elf is counterproductive. Still, if he shows a clue and you can understand the deck he is playing, then negating your own monster and getting rid of elf by fusion summoning, can be a valid solution.
Against Yusei: Without crow you cann’t do much if you get lava. This is why most of the time you need blackout in field and Summit for the next turn.
If you see him running a 30c deck then be happy because his chance of drawing him are slim. Remove stardust the first chance you have, it is much easier than mystical elf.
AGAINST SLOP RANK 8: Remove key monster’s from the field by fusion summoning into albion the branded against galaxy or tachyon, don’t let them swam the field with materials, banish galaxy spiral and starliege, if you can both all the better.
Watch out for his responses and try to guess depending on the timing what staple he has in hand. If he plays a deck that allows him nibiru then keep count of the summons you do, see WHEN he respond’s and if you suspect it, keep in your hand summit until the end of your turn.
