Notes & Combos

This was the longest, most arduous KoG climb I can remember (286 games). I fought Stardust Dragon 100 times. I know this because I literally counted. Eventually I had to just accept that sometimes you open with a bad hand, and to stop tinkering with card ratios after opening with bricks and just commit to a couple staples.

Tips

I already wrote a combo guide here, so I'll just focus on some tips i picked up along the way this time instead.

The crutch points against Stardust Dragon

• The best time to use Supernova Dragon's effect is immediately follwing Accel Synchro's tribute effect.
• Despite Accel Synchro's summoned monster being immune to your 'activated effects', Fiendish Chain still works against Accel Synchro's summoned monster if you need to use it. This is due to a loophole in the game logic where Fiendish Chain is considered a 'continuous effect' after it's activated.
• The best time to use Fiendish Chain is against Crimson Dragon's targeting effect (not his upon summoned effect).
• The best counter to the Ruddy Rose -> Droplet combo is to use Fobidden Droplet yourself. Send a Spell to the gy so he can't respond.
• Wait for a spell card intended for use against your monsters to activate Abyss's effect. If they activate DRNM, use Fiendish Golem to banish Abyss. Then you can respond and negate. This saves Red Nova for the battle phase when you need to dodge the 21000ATK Stardust Dragon.
• Skull Meister was made for Stardust Synchron.

Destiny HEROes

• Your gameplan going second is to first destroy D - Force with Scarlet Security. How to get to that point is the tricky part as you MUST have Red Dragon Archfiend on field to do so. It can't be Scarred or Scarlight as their name-changing effects will be negated by Plasma.

Against Odion

• It is absolutely essential that you have your toggle button turned to "On" going first. Use Abyss to negate Temple of the Kings during the draw phase. This completely cripples their first turn.
• Wait until they use their skill's "Add Level 10 Monster to Hand" effect before using Shining Star Dragon. They normally grab a Kaiju. If you use Shining Star too early, they'll search Sphere Mode and you're cooked.

If you get Lava Golemed

• Use Shining Star Dragon to summon Red Nova, then use Lava Golem to summon Crimson Dragon. Then Crimson Dragon can summon Supernova Dragon. This is the play 🧠.
