Notes & Combos
Phew. Quite the ride. Picked up the game 2,5 months ago... and as a new player with absolutely no knowledge of modern Yu-Gi-Oh... this meta and the meta before it were quite difficult to navigate. Managed to get Legend in my first 2 weeks with a 20 cards DM deck 2 seasons ago (thanks to the soul servant free decks, wasn't aware of the mind on air trick either... too bad I guess).
Tried to KoG last season but I wasn't good/experienced enough to make it, and as a new player, my card pool was too shallow.
But this season, thanks to Undead's deck list and more gems earned and spent... I managed to do it. Only deranked once to Legend 3 from 5 but after that it was a (relatively) smooth sailing to KoG.
Haven't used nightmare phenix much, maybe once or twice during the climb and was honestly considering replacing it with The Great Double Casted Caster as it's a good way to bypass the front lines and surprise the opponent.
Ty-phon saved me maybe once or twice but learning that it disables your own Dragoon was a quite a harsh lesson.
I'm also running 2 Illusion of Chaos as I'm still lacking the third Soul.
Deck feels quite solid, and Dragon Knight is extremely useful, don't rush Dragoon all the time because sometimes Knight is the better choice (especially against red eyes). However Kaijus and Lava Golems were a plague, ruining the turn 1 setup with the Sphere and DM on board.
Anyway first KoG, hopefully more to come... DM best deck!
