Longtime mayakashi player here. Left Duel links when masterduel came out 2 years ago and played it there instead. I heard we finally got support so hopped back in for one last KOG run. I saved max gems 2 years ago waiting for support that never came in time so thankfully was able to get x3 Hajun with around 13k gems.

I started at bronze and climbed to KOG in around 3 days. I can't believe Maya is actually strong now. Even without knowing most matchups and what the new skills (wtf is yubel skill?? is this rush duel??) and cards do, I climbed comfortably learning along the way. Maya can now extend past disruption, otk, and have followup with the link 3. I remember yoko (2900) + dakki (1000) painfully missing lethal back in the day. My standard play was sending 2 link 3s to the grave turn 1. I did this especially if I drew Mayhem or going second for easier subsequent mayhem procs or lethal. If I saw yubel character or a skill I didnt know, I sent only 1 to save the on-field negate. Crashing the link 2 or 3 to summon gasha and go for lethal or getting the link3 in grave for next turn comes up somewhat frequently. Methapmorph bringing targeting protection and optionally reseting a banished link 3 for a negate was nice. The techs were what I had access to 2 yrs ago. I got the one for one bundle but not sure if I needed it, never drew it. Yasha is an insane extender now. I went back and forth with 1 to 2 yasha or dakki. Sadly, the old days of adding spectralsword seem unnecessary.

I'm not sure if Maya will become tiered but this was a lot of fun. Shoutout to nairito, Aelfred, Kitsune, and others who were around in the maya channel back then.
