Notes & Combos

If you haven't tried using Power to Weave Hope before, here's why it can be pretty powerful:

  • You can cheat out multiple 2500 ATK monsters for few to no tributes
  • You can play Pulglaice Spierce from the hand in face up defense mode, allowing you to get a 3500 ATK piercing boss monster the same turn you summon it (normally not possible)
  • The opponent can't respond to you playing Spierce or Linker via the skill with Shiny Shady or Trap Hole, allowing you to OTK boards that would otherwise be safe and lets you rely less on dedicated spell/trap removal

So why pair this with Gradius? Sure, there's some small incidental synergies, like Gradius being very good at milling additional light monsters to fuel Freed's destruction effect and Over Rush Storm. Mainly though, it's that the Gradius cards are a very self-sufficient engine that can function well without a dedicated skill since it contact fuses and all the lv 1s and lv 4s are interchangable. Without the main Gradius skill you lose out on your lv 3200 ATK boss monster, but the crazy amount of additional OTK power you can get with Linker/Spierce is more than worth it.

I ran pretty much the same list as rangerhewki and Sak, just with a couple more trap cards over Rising Light.
