Notes & Combos
Returning player here!
Recently returned to Duel Links and reached Rush Duel King of Games using Gradius, a non–Tier 1 deck with a lower consistency ceiling than most meta options.
Initially, I climbed with Galactica, but stalled around Gold Rank 5. After losing a close match to a Top 10 WCQ 2019 player piloting Jointech, it became clear that Rush rewards stability and resource control more than pure glass-cannon pressure.
That match highlighted the limitations of Galactica in longer or more interactive games, which led me to switch to Gradius—a deck with better tempo management and recovery. The change directly improved consistency and allowed me to close out the KoG run.
The climb included wins against Master Accel Road, HERO Rush Rising, and Fullmetarion Script, showing the deck is competitively viable when piloted well, even without full optimization.
The result reflects fundamentals, matchup knowledge, and decision-making, rather than deck power. Further optimization would improve consistency, but the deck proved capable of competing at a high level in the current Rush meta.
