Notes & Combos

Changes

Similar to last month's, but added Galaxy-Eyes and Afterglow. This pair can sometimes get you 3 bodies on turn 1, which can mean quite a lot in a meta where everyone is playing Lava Golem.

The only hand-trap I'm playing is Droll & Lockbird. Effect Veiler and D.D. Crow got kicked for Eclipse and Droplet. If you open up with Droplet, you can stop the Destiny Hero Disturbance Strategy madness. Numbers Protection was a great replacement for the second Spiral Galaxy that got taken away by the limited list.

Win-Rate

I tried Photon and Sky Striker for a little bit. And while Sky Striker is fun, (each board is like a puzzle to take apart), Tachyon was the only one that got wins consistently.

Out of 118 games, this deck's win-rate is 67%, which is pretty good. A fifth of those games are going to be against Therion though, which this deck loses consistently to 60% of the time. Against Destiny Heroes, won 7/10 games. Never lost to Red-Eyes, Live Twin, or Sky Striker.

Tips

The crux of the deck is knowing when to use the skill on draw or not. You have to count your opponent's negates and determine if your Rank Up-Magic will be wasted. Sometimes you can use Rank Up as bait if your hand is board-breaking enough already. Other times it's actually better to get another card in hand instead.

The other crux of the deck is knowing which card to search for. Be aware that sometimes your opponent's monsters will change whether you can use effects or not. Spirit Dragon makes it so you can't summon 2 monsters at the same time for instance. That makes Infinity Dragon and Nebula Dragon bad opening choices. If they're playing Zombie World, you also wont get any help from Galactic.
