SALAD BEST DECK! ! !
Hi there, it's me, Red-Eyes Gal. And today I bring you SALAMANGERATS BABYYYYYYY
Started at DLV 6 and all the way to 19 with Salamangreats with a few breaks around DLV 10-11 to get replays for the channel of other decks.
Going First
The deck is BAD in this current iteration, having to discard 2 cards to get Salamangreat of Fire sucks a lot and you have no going second effect besides the free Salad on field from the skill. Which might as well be barely anything compared with the +3 some decks get going second. There will be times where you are forced to discard either an important playmaker or a staple because the other cards you need in your hand. And Salamangreat of Fire dies to a Veiler unless you can use Burning Shell and even then it sucks because you are probably using a Salamangreat you really needed in your hand.
Your strategy remains making Miragestallio and using Burning Shell to bounce something and then drop Pyro Phoenix with Trascendance for a field wipe and then hope your staples are enough to end the turn because if that doesn't work you are screwed 9/10 times!
Going Second
This is where the deck shines a lot more! One of the things I love about a deck is when the cards have random extra effects. Beat Bison is a non-targetting negate which gets over cards like Dragoon, Fowl can force the opponent to activate either a Droplet or a Book early. And Foxy being a self-revive that pops a face up spell/trap with no response unless you negate the summon has come in clutch so many times!
Promethean Princess is an amazing go second tool that allows you to keep summoning your Salad links in case you had to go out of your way to summon Heatleo for a backrow bounce or you just wanna get Salamangreat of Fire's search again.
BUT BE MINDFUL OF THIS! YOU CANNOT USE PROMETHEAN'S SELF-REVIVE POP EFFECT WITH SOULBURNING LINK, the skill DOES NOT LET YOU SUMMON ANYTHING FROM THE GY THAT ISN'T A SALAMANGREAT.
Final Thoughts
I had a TON of fun playing Salamangreats on the KC Cup. I'll be honest, I never played Salamangreats before in my life. But I was curious about it and then the new support made me want to see how far I could take these firebabies. This deck's ability to recover from a dire situation made me fall in love and I hope Roar gets unlimited soon.
