Notes & Combos

Well guys, I'm back with some more Altergeist content, featuring the September 2025 KC Cup. In this KC Cup, Despia was everywhere in addition to Dragonic Contact and a few Shaddolls mixed in there. This format was so hard for my beloved Ghost Gal's Altergeists to thrive in, especially given how you essentially just lose if you go second into Despia and get your board wiped through Branded in Red + The First Darklord combo. I'll be honest with you guys, I used Sky Striker for the brunt of my climb, but on the last few games I swapped to Altergeists and got lucky to make a breakthrough to max with this list. Sky Striker is broken right now since it's one of the only decks in the game that can deep draw to find Non-Fusion Area. With Altergeists, I just got lucky and hard opened the floodgate on the rankup duels. Either that or open enough backrow and try to deplete your opponent's resources. Pick your poison.

There's really not much to say about Altergeists that I haven't already covered in my YouTube Guide. The deck is still the same old same old Silquitous backrow control. The deck is also still just as bricky as it has always been. It pains me to say it, but Altergeist is not a good deck anymore (it hasn't been a good deck for a good while now), but regardless, the community knows my love for the deck and how good I am at it.

I've always wanted to be widely-known for a deck I love and I've achieved that, like it's been a dream come true for me to have the community's support on my Altergeist content. I'd love to give a huge shoutout to the people like Kama3, Suhnrysanti, Sean Matrai (Shaddoll King), Mekklord, Yaotomo Yuuki (Weather Painter King), and many others who have helped me reach the pinnacle of perfection for being known on my favorite deck.

But yeah, that's pretty much it for this write-up. I saw Adminia and Malwisp are on the way and those cards will open up a ton of combos for Altergeists.
