Notes & Combos

My strategy was always to try turn 1 with Mu Beta Fafnir with an attached material to activate the magic negate, Magikey with the countertrap to deal with magic, Lyrilusc to bounce up to two monsters per special summon, and Herald. That was the minimum, and depending on the draw, I could also have droplet or Lancea in my hand. I always looked for Sarauvis with the Herald's effect.

Turn 2 depended on what I was facing. Goddess was the best way to remove Dragoon and other annoying monsters, and I always tried to climb with the phoenix or dragon safety to bait interactions. It was always good to use an opponent's Link 2 if possible, such as a Mascarena or Hieratic Seal. Quadrantidis is very useful against backrow and also brings monsters back from the graveyard, and Dragonids can attack multiple monsters and remove without giving a target.

Ty-Phoon was the last resort when everything went wrong or to remove the opponent's last monster and attack with a clear board, but I learned that you could also use the two level 12 rituals to summon him.
