Your best Altergeist player is back with a new Altergeist deck for the February 2024 KC Cup in a tier zero meta! This is kind of a different take on Altergeists and the deck still requires a perfect pilot to function. However, the way I specifically built this variation of the deck was to aggressively shut down the current tier zero deck, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon. Granted, if they go first and end on Divine Dragon Knight Felgrand, Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon omni negate, plus limit three's, it's very hard to break that board. That's why I was playing Dragonecro Nethersoul Dragon and Mudragon of the Swamp, because I was trying Super Polymerization in the deck before realizing it's too bricky and taking it out of the deck.

Also, Bottomless Trap Hole did wonders against Tachyon since you can just wait until they summon either Galactic Spiral Dragon or activate Nebula Dragon to then banish in response via Bottomless Trap Hole. Mischief of the Gnomes was an auto-win against Tachyon if you drew it going first and helped a little against other decks that really hate being level-modulated. That being said, Shiranui was my hardest matchup and was an auto-loss if they went first and ended on multiple Sunsaga pops. I had a much harder time against Shiranui than I did Tachyon.

Other than Shiranui being an annoyance, the climb was pretty solid minus all the Mizars on the ladder. Hopefully Tachyon is hit on the next banlist so I see more deck variety. Altergeists are still the best deck and Ghost Gal is still the best waifu. I love my Altergeists and my Ghost Gal. Only thing I was bummed about is that Ghost Gal's rerun rewards genuinely stink, like nobody asked for Kidolga and Pixiel.

Hopefully soon, we get a mainbox or something with more Altergeist support in it. Konami, give me my Pookuery, Malwisp, and Memorygant so the deck can actually combo instead of relying on generic backrow and Silquitous control.

I'll keep playing Altergeists and I'm excited for Ghost Gal's rerun to farm her for more of her cards, even though Kidolga and Pixiel aren't good.
