This deck is centered around two specific interactions that keep the oppressive Spirit monster Amano-Iwato permanently on the field. The first is with the skill Duel, standby! which says that monster effects cannot be activated on your first turn (which includes Amano’s effect to return to the hand). The second is with World Legacy Clash banishing Amano after it’s flipped face-up (but not when it’s normal summoned), which will keep it on the field after it returns. Once Amano is established on the field, protective traps (either battle traps like Mirror Wall or counter traps like Dark Bribe and Rebirth of Parshath) are used to “protect the castle” and keep the opponent’s options limited throughout the duel.
Because this deck has been out of the meta for a while, we do not have enough statistics on the deck to generate an up-to-date breakdown. See below for the most recent available decklists.
