A Word From , TPC Manager

Hello all, in light of the recent balance update,

from the Top Player Council has weighed in on on the current Tier List and how it will be impacted by the banlist.

Tier 1

Destiny HEROs received the Rokket treatment of having to play less Limit 3 cards (with Loading... being the primary suspect here) due to a Limit 3 on mandatory engine in Loading... . This overall doesn't change the reason why you'd play Destiny HERO, but it does limit which backrow it can run to more niche cards. The deck is still very healthy regardless, so expect it to perform early on into the format.

Odd-Eyes received two different hits, with Loading... going to Limit 1, therefore completely eliminating the play, and Loading... going to 3. What this means for the future of the deck is that most variants are now not going to be playable, at least on first glance. Both Magistus and Pure versions relied on Riser as part of their end board, and Orcust and 6-axis now need multiple Limit 3 slots in order to do anything. Despite this, I think as long as Raging Pendulum is this overtuned the deck will see some sort of play, but hopefully Konami will gut the Skill so that we don't have to see it again.

Tier 2

Black Luster Soldier hasn't been touched yet on the banlist (barring a potential Skill hit to The Soul of Light and Darkness ), but I personally don't expect much from it outside of KC Cups. It has a lot of gas going second and can summon a bunch of disruptive 3000 ATK Beaters, but its going-first boards are currently lacking. Not to mention its potential to be blown out in Side Deck formats by messing with the Graveyard (requiring opening countermeasures in Loading... ). We'll see what happens with Black Luster Soldier, since it has tech space and doesn't need its Normal Summon I wouldn't count it out just yet.

Tenyi is (currently) untouched, at least card-wise. We'll have to see whether Three Effects! gets nerfed, but aside from that, as an engine-only deck (running few if any techs), Tenyi's place in the meta rides or dies in its matchup spreads. Side Deck formats are going to be tough for Tenyi as there just isn't meaninful tech space. I'd expect to see Tenyi to lay low on the tournament scene until the next KC Cup, but in the meantime Tenyi will probably get some success.
