Four weeks have passed now since the banlist and it seems the meta has finally settled down a bit, or rather the TPC has gotten to a consensus about what the Top Decks in this (relatively) new environment are. The new BOX gave us some very powerful individual cards and Skills, but whether they are enough to shake things up remains to be seen in the coming weeks.
Tier 1
TPC Comments
Destiny HEROs and Odd-Eyes stand united at the top of the meta while having very different playstyles. Destiny HEROs are the strongest Trap deck of the format, being able to adapt to almost anything with a variety of techs and Side Deck cards, while Odd-Eyes is the strongest Aggro deck of the format, trying to completely overpower the opponent with its powerful Turn 1 or just sacking through boards Turn 2. That being said, they don't come without weaknesses and I personally do not feel like one deck is substantially stronger than the other.
Odd-Eyes joins Destiny HEROs in Tier 1. The deck has a few different variations between the Orcust and Magistus Engines, both of which have explosive Turn 1 boards. Loading... from the new BOX has some potential in these decks as a toolbox option to survive another turn in the event the board gets cleared.
With its build variety and tech/engine access, Odd-Eyes is back up to a solid Tier 1 position. In my opinion, the strongest version of the deck is the Orcust + Synchro version. While the other versions seem insane, they can run out of steam quickly and can be broken with techs like Loading... and Loading... . This is primarily why I think the Orcust version is the better vesion right now: the deck isn't linear and the Skill allows for creativity and powerful tools. I expect more lists to pop up in the upcoming weeks, especially as we enter the KC CUp once again.
Side note, I think Odd-Eyes is stronger now relatively than it was prior to its nerf. It feels like the deck is more consistent and stable after being forced to cut the Loading... and its associated lines.
Odd-Eyes rises back up to Tier 1. In my opinion, the ability to set up a Loading... + Loading... makes it unmatched this format. Additionally, being able to send Loading... or Loading... via Loading... gives the Deck a huge boost. If the deck is able to drop a Trishula Zero on the opponent's turn, even against the other Tier 1 Deck in Destiny HEROs, it's most likely game over.
Tier 2
TPC Comments
Trickstar hasn't changed much as a Deck since its early adoption, maintaining a consistent Tournament presence. Its ability to run a svelte engine and a modular suite of techs has kept the deck relevant as the meta forms around it.
