The Meta Championship Series has concluded, with several previously-considered "rogue" decks achieving substantial representation in Top 32. As such, we have directed TPC to internally re-evaluate their interpretation of our long-established definitions for each Tier, which were always meant to predict the Top Cut representation of a large-scale tournament like the MCS or KaibaCorp Cup Top 100. Whenever we see a Tier List prediction straying further away from the representation of an MCS we feel the need to step in. While this Tier List philosophy is by no means perfect, and this Tier List in particular might seem to have several large-scale changes from previous lists, we hope this and future Tier Lists will better represent TPC's expectations for large-scale tournaments.

Tier 1

Harpies have become even more dominant at Tier 1 than they ever were, this is due to the introduction of more favorable match ups in the current meta game. Things like D/D/D and Destiny HEROs being played made the overall match-ups for Harpies across the meta go from great to greater. This has increased the deck's dominance and makes it so that Harpies are sitting strongly at Tier 1.

Harpies remain at Tier 1. The current decklists are playing 1 Loading... and 1 Loading... to maximize chances to win the mirror match immediately since drawing TTH in the mirror often times leads to certain victory. Harpies have also started opting to play less Loading... as before since Loading... banishes potential revive targets (as well as cards like Loading... stopping the special summon of Harpie Ladies altogether). It is the combination of Loading... , which makes every Summon of the deck a threat, and Loading... , which becomes an engine piece and a Loading... for Harpies (effectively dealing with backrow and disruption), which make Harpies so difficult to deal with, establishing them firmly at Tier 1.

Tier 2

TPC Comments

Melodious although not as consistent as Harpies it still comes at a close second with From Songstress to Maestra giving them easy access to cards such as Loading... which allows them to add the card they just used as fodder for the Skill. While the Harpie matchup can be difficult, popular cards such as Loading... and Loading... counter Loading... 's effect to bouncing monsters to hand which makes this unfavorable matchup more in the Melodious player's favor.

Melodious has won the MCS and it keeps holding its Tier 2 position. The deck is clearly the second-best deck in the current format after Harpies, having the ability to easily summon strong boss monsters like Loading... and Loading... is oftentimes too much for most decks to handle. Aside from that the deck has powerful protection due to being able to play higher card-counts while remaining consistent. Loading... also gives this deck very strong offensive and defensive mechanisms that can strongly punish your opponent for making certain plays.
