Tier 1
TPC Comments
D/D/D is still the best deck of the format. It has to adapt to the appearance of BA and Galaxy by switching up techs in Main Deck. Builds are cutting Fusions from the extra (besides Loading... ) to play the new Galaxy Xyz package.
Tier 2
Burning Abyss copers, rejoice! The new BOX has given us the one card that we literally thought would never come, Loading... . This new addition has given the deck in-engine disruption, and along with the deck's natural survivability and consistency, makes the deck able to hang with the big boys in tiered status. The deck has room for variation too, as variants combining Burning Abyss and Phantom Knights have been performing quite well recently in leagues and solo-tournaments. However, since the side deck still hurts the deck slightly, and it is nowhere near as dominant as D/D/Ds, the deck stays at Tier 2 for now.
Heart of Xyz brings Loading... to Burning Abyss giving the deck its own disruption or protection via Quick-Effect Loading...
Another great thing about Beatrice is its floating effect, limiting its counters and increasing the deck's survivability.
At the same time, BA still struggles against the most playable stable in the game in Loading... , which is a 2/3 of in almost every deck.
BA is finally here! It only took about two weeks of people asking where BA was on the Tier List and it zoomed to a Tier 2 spot. With the adding of Loading... from the new Mini BOX BA got a huge boost in a monster that can Quick-Effect send any card like a BA or even techd like Loading... or Loading... . Things are looking very promising for BA but we will have to see where things go for
and friends.
Burning Abyss has risen to Tier 2 status! With the addition of Loading... in the newest Mini BOX, the deck has gotten a huge boost. Beatrice solves a bunch of issues the Deck had before:
- Follow-up Plays
- Reliance on opening backrow for disruption
Before Beatrice, BA had to rely a lot on Loading... mills as well as drawing backrow to protect Dante. Now with Beatrice, you don't have this problem anymore.
Beatrice is follow-up and interruption at the same time, with the added bonus of being nearly impossible to OTK through. Even if your opponent Loading... 's Beatrice at the start of their turn, the BA player is still able to use Beatrice’s effect to send cards such as Loading... to the graveyard to make sure they don't get OTK’d.
However, one problem is getting to Beatrice. While the deck has gotten a significant power boost, it doesn't make it easier to play through backrow, especially Loading... . A well-timed Book will end your turn. Recent deck building trends in BA has been adding techs like Loading... as well as Loading... to deal with backrow when going second. One problem with these builds is though that you do not have anything for the mirror match or other disruptive monster interruption (such as Evilswarm Nightmare for example) and are kinda relying on Beatrice pass winning you the game (Beatrice Pass is sometimes enough though).
It remains to be seen how BA decks will be built in the future.
After weeks of beings snubbed and ridiculed by the TPC, Konami itself decided to teach us a lesson and release even more support with Loading... giving the deck an archetypal Quick-Effect Loading... that works as monster disruption and allows for even more floats. Now for sure we will see other players (besides its usual tryhards) perform with the deck.
