Tier 1

The new BOX and Declan Akaba Level-Ups presented support for D/D/Ds and it boosted their power level to high-tier status. With new tools such as Loading... and Loading... , the deck now has access to a Turn 1 Draw 3 in the form of Loading... , and an in-engine revival / non-destruction removal (the latter being much-desired for cards like Loading... ). The deck also has access to powerful going second tools such as Loading... to negate Spells and Traps and advance plays. With that being said, this deck has what it takes to compete in a Tier 1 status in this currently very diverse meta.
The addition of Loading... and easy access to Rank 8s with Loading... and Loading... gave this deck a big boost. The deck is pretty explosive going second as it can easily penetrate through backrow with Genghis plays followed by potential Rank 8s. Going first the deck has Loading... , which is a searchable disruption and even in worst-case hands the deck has the ability to abuse Loading... to draw into its techs. Between the current decks, D/D/D comes out on top for a plenty of reasons, including high consistency, powerful defensive plays with follow-up Turn 1 and powerful big pushes Turn 2. Another aspect that makes this deck better than many others is its power in Side Format, as its power doesn't decrease much unlike its analogues like Gandora and Metalfoes. So to summarize, D/D/D promotes to Tier 1 due to high consistency, playability going first and second and few answers to it in Side Deck format.
Cross Dimension gave D/D/D a whole new set of cards to play with, the real shining star here being Loading... . After Pendulum Summoning, Thomas allows you to summon any Level 8 D/D/D at the cost of destroying 1 of your scales. After resolving Thomas, you are left with 3 level 8 monsters on board allowing you to go into Loading... which lets you draw THREE cards not to mention already thinning out your deck from your searches and Command of the Doom King use, giving D/D/D the opportunity to draw their backrow or their Side Deck cards. If you draw your Level 8s, you can end on Loading... , and this is one of the only decks that can afford the steep costs of using Zombiestein's negate.
Overall, this new support gives what players wanted D/D/D to have, a turn one play.
With the hype that this more combo-oriented D/D/D had winning a tournament the day they came out, the more backrow-oriented D/D/D of old with may take a backseat. However, just like in KCC it is still possible to catch an opponent by surprise and pierce them into oblivion with Loading... . As such, D/D/D get their deserved Tier 1 position in the meta
D/D/D got a nice boost with the new box and Declan Akaba 's level up rewards. Thanks to their new tools the deck can be less reliant on flippers and play more engine cards that increase their power ceiling.
D/D/D is...Tier 1, apparently?
Now, I'm not gonna call the deck bad, but my skepticism towards it isn't gone yet. I know it sounds weird for me to "bash" on the deck given I've been playing it and enjoying myself for quite a bit, but hear me out.
We all know the qualities of this deck, and we saw what it's able to do with the new box (Now, most people have tried the Loading... variant, and while I wouldn't call it the best way to play it, it does well in Best-of-3 thanks to its ability to draw into Side Deck cards quite consistently), however, sole Tier 1? I just don't feel it deserves this high of a placing, especially in a meta where I feel like there is no Tier 1 deck at all. It's too varied, there are so many viable decks with different winning/losing matchups, and D/D/D is no exception. It would form a great "triangle" down in Tier 2 with Gandora and Phantom Knights (with Gandora beating D/D/D and losing to PK, PK losing to D/D/D and D/D/D losing to Gandora), but for whatever reason this is rated higher than the other two (Banlist bias since it was the only one not to get hit, I guess?).
TL;DR: IMO Deck is good and fun, but not any better than Gandora and PK
Tier 2
