With the KCGT 2022 Preliminary Tournament Qualifiers coming up this weekend, this Tier List has shifted focus to Best-of-1 Ladder Format

Overall, the landscape of this KC GT is much different from the last KC Cup. D/D/D is definitely the best deck, followed by the much slower Burning Abyss. Decks like Metalfoes and Odd-Eyes can still do well for themselves, while the usual oddballs of Lunalight and Gandora paired the newcomers of Nekroz and Fluffals aren't completely terrible choices. If you want to do well and don't have a lot of experience, run D/D/D, you can get lucky and win most of your mirrors. If you're running something else...well, I really hope you practised whatever you're playing. You're gonna need to be really good to top this one.

Tier 1

TPC Comments

It will be interesting how the best deck of the format uses its tech and Extra Deck space to thrive in the KC-Style environment.

D/D/D is widely expected to be the most-played and strongest deck in the KC GT. While it is a known quantity, its consistency and power threshold is incredibly high, despite the knowledge that it will be prepared for.

Burning Abyss rise to Tier 1. We all expect to see a bunch of BA in Top 128 and likely a few in Top 10. BA does well when people don't think it’s good but it will be interesting to see how BA does when under the spotlight.

Tier 2

Odd-Eyes has high-ceiling plays going first with its Rank 4 + Rank 7 set up and going second with its potential Loading... OTKs. It might be caught up in the crossfire of Pendulum hate with D/D/D in the forefront, but Xiangke and Xiangsheng still provides that reliability that KC GT requires, so it's still expected to do well.
