This will be the last Tier List for this iteration of the Top Player Council, starting next week, the Tier Lists will be created by a new Top Player Council, so look out for it!

Honestly, I expected this new main box to shake things up in the meta before it was announced, but it didn't have that much of an impact. Sure, we have new cool additions like the new D-Hero Skill and Loading... /Loading... , Nekroz finally has Loading... , Crusadia finally has Loading... , Loading... is not paywalled by a Selection Box anymore, etc. However, at least for now, none of those appear to be that impactful and the meta is basically the same. The potential for some of these decks is there, but only time will tell if that potential will be enough to solidify these decks as good contenders.

The new box hasn't made a big shift in the format, there are some interesting new cards but not at the power level of Odd-Orcust and Speedroid at first glance.

Tier 1

TPC Comments

Nothing has really changed for Speedroids, the deck is still the same, making its Turn 1 play of Loading... and a combination of either backrow with Loading... /Loading... /Loading... /Loading... , another synchro monster like Loading... /Loading... , or even both. Additionally, it maintains its ability to sack duels on turn 2 using its techs to deal with your opponent's board and OTK easily using different options for different situations, like Loading... to make a monster's ATK go to 0 and negate its effect, Loading... to get that double attack enabling lethal, kitedrake destroying all the field and so on. One thing that this deck kind of struggles is with the Side Deck though, because you'll need to side Loading... s / Loading... s in to deal with your opponent's Loading... , but at the same time they could side Loading... instead, where Loading... would be a better option. As such, you kind of have to guess what your opponent is going to side in Games 2/3, but that alone doesn't stop the deck from being Tier 1.

Tier 2

TPC Comments

The Orcust variant of Odd-Eyes has arguably the strongest Turn 1 on the meta right now when it pops off, being one of the most complicated boards to deal with, only being held back by it's own consistency. It can build different boards for different match-ups, but most of them consists of a combination of the following:

That said, I believe that this version of Odd-Eyes using the orcust engine sits as one of the best decks in the format, but is not quite the best deck since the consistency problems exist.
