The first KC Cup of 2022 will finally start this weekend. Who would have thought that Magnets would be the deck to beat this time around? The magnet engine is just enough to beat every deck. They just need to setup optimally and overwhelm your opponent next turn. Just make sure to dodge all those Melodious making Loading... Turn 1. If unable to dodge them, main decking Loading... might be a good idea to bounce their Fusions.

Magnets will be the strongest Deck going into the second Stage of this KC Cup. Being very consistent over a large number of games and having the option to adapt really well to the current micro meta with their tech cards as well with their Skills (mainly Destiny Draw and Mind Scan ) you can expect multiple Magnets in T10/100 global.

Traditionally, Gaia has been relatively popular in the KC Cup due to it essentially being a lower-ceiling Water Xyz with a much more reliable set-up. Since the inception of Loading... and Loading... , however, Gaia's ceiling for OTK potential has increased substantially while still maintaining the reliability players have come to expect, leading one to believe they'd maintain KCC popularity.

While I would personally argue that the hit to Loading... was enough to keep Harpies in check in this incredibly weak meta, Harpies' Hunting Ground was also hit, requiring incredibly highroll hands to establish their strong set-ups. That being said, Loading... set-ups are still incredibly powerful, but Harpies have definitely dropped quite substantially in popularity. They still have that aspect of heavily-favoured scenarios if they do establish Loading... + 1-2 Backrow, but those situations are few and far between. I would like to see how Harpies perform in this KC Cup, however, as they're probably the biggest unknown when it comes to representation.
