Post-banlist Tier Lists are always going to be volatile and subject to drastic changes, due to the lack of data overall and differing opinions of strength. As such this Tier List tends to be the average of several differing opinions that will become more refined as the weeks progress.

This is probably the most debatable Tier List we have put out this season so far. Because it is so early after the balance changes and the tournament results we can look at are limited the TPC disagreed on a lot of things so we ended on a list that might look a bit strange. I suspect with the coming week and more tournaments to take into account everything will settle down a bit.

In my personal opinion, there isn't really a solidified Tier 1 at the moment in my opinion, so far every deck has weaknesses and does not put itself above everything else and odd eyes in particular most definitely does not meet that criteria. many decks are able to set up multiple interruptions which Odd-Eyes can't particularly play through easily with just their engine. You can argue that its Turn 1 can be oppressive by setting up 2 interruptions, but every other deck also sets up fairly strong boards as well and none of them are impossible to deal with (Odd-Eyes not excluded).

Tier 1

In my opinion Odd-Eyes deserves its Tier 1 spot, serving as a foil to the more tech-laden decks in the format. Currently there are three-ish Odd-Eyes versions at the forefront with Orcust, Magistus, and the more pure versions (sometimes slotting in weird tech monsters like Loading... . Still, Odd-Eyes has had a solid performance that I expect to continue in the upcoming weeks.

I would not get caught up on the fact that this deck was put at Tier 1 this week as this opinion is extremely split even within the TPC members. The meta overall is a bit crazy right now as it always is after a huge banlist. I do think the majority of us agrees that there is no clear Tier 1 deck right now and that we probably just have a bunch of strong Tier 2 decks, a couple Tier 3 decks, and then many strong rogue decks that are enjoying the post-banlist times and competing well in tournaments for the moment. What Odd-Eyes still has though is the option to play Orcust, but just without Loading... . This version has not been represented that much since the banlist, as players have explored other options to take advantage of the Raging Pendulum Skill instead. However, the Orcust version is still extremely strong and will likely see more competitive play soon.

I was expecting a Skill restriction for Odd-Eyes, but the Limit 1 for Loading... is also a very good nerf. After removing the Loading... and Loading... and crystal wing from Odd-Eyes, the deck is well-limited.

The deck's Pure/Magistus/Orcust/Amano versions still have nice boards consisting of Xyz Monsters, Loading... and/or Loading... . We can also send Loading... to the graveyard with Shooting Riser, adding the negated Amano to the hand with Loading... and summon it to block enemy monster effects. It's also quite strong Turn 2 as well.

In my opinion, the meta is too weak with the hits to Odd-Eyes Orcust builds and Speedroids to have Odd-Eyes as a sole Tier 1 deck. It's still a solid deck to top with thanks to alternative engines, and will be a good deck for ladder formats, especially if the next BOXes are lacking.
