It seems like we're in a format where you either play Branded or decks that can run power-cards or floodgates like Loading... and Loading... . As such, Traptrix, Shinobird (through its draw power), Beetrooper, Eldlich, and Exosister can all play against Branded and have solid-enough engines to be able to push through a lot.

Tier 1

The swathe of decks being demoted are largely because of the same reason; their gameplay loop is dependent on a strong Turn 1 that other decks can't break, but Branded is reasonably adept at going second for three reasons: Loading... , the second effect of Theater of the Branded's Opening , and Loading... .

Branded Fusion sending cards such as Loading... and Loading... enables a single -card resolution to eat through multiple disruptions. Paired with the second effect of the Skill and it becomes exceedingly difficult to stop a competent branded hand. Not only does it add Loading... to dodge negation effects, but sending Loading... enables the deck to play through a negate on Branded Fusion. Loading... is a massive boon for board breaking as it eliminates almost all counterplay opposing strategies may employ, as well as offering a lot of outplay potential through denying the opponent a response window.

There is one matchup that holds more weight than any other at the moment, the Branded matchup. If a deck is built to beat Branded, it gets to stay; if it does not have the tools to combat Branded, it gets relegated to Tier 3 or lower.

Tier 2

Tier 3

Eldlich is a meta-call that's specifically designed to beat Branded, but it does so well-enough for a Tier 3 spot. The deck can set-up Loading... very easily, and going second it can break boards with a searchable Kaiju or Loading... . The deck also plays Loading... and Loading... / Loading... to stop Loading... (the only remaining disruption from Branded). The Eldlich engine is also pretty decent in the grind-game, and it usually works well when paired with floodgates and GY control. Eldlich's main issue is its absolutely terrible matchups into anything that's not Branded (especially Shinobird).

The case for Eldlich is simple: it searches Loading... when the best deck has no outs to it.

Eldlich has found its niche in the current meta as a counter to Branded Despia. If Despia lists don't main-deck enough ways to deal with backrow, Eldlich’s game plan becomes very effective. Going first, the deck can consistently access Loading... , and if you have a spare Effect Monster on the field, you can turn it + Loading... into Loading... to set Loading... , which helps protect NFA.

Surprisingly, Eldlich can also go second into Despia, as long as you draw any card that checks Loading... , such as Loading... , Loading... , or Loading... . Even Non-Fusion Area can work in this situation, since it either forces out Branded in Red or, if the opponent chooses not to use it, you can Kaiju their Loading... and then activate your Sanctuary of the King's Treasures .

The deck can also basically FTK Beetrooper if it chooses to run the Loading... package, but this comes at the cost of making the Branded matchup going second worse, so it’s unclear whether including it is actually optimal.
