Shaddoll and Despia remain the best decks in the format. Some players (and tournament results) might consider Despia to be the better of the two, but the meta is actually quite balanced. One one hand we have Shaddoll, who have strong hands (even with pure engine), high consistency, and the ability to break boards with only Shaddoll cards. On the other hand there's Despia, which has a higher power-ceiling but needs to see specific cards (like Loading... or techs), since full-Despia hands don't tend to enough against the field (meaning Despia tends to be more bricky).

Despia is still doing well in the format (despite Loading... 's popularity). I would attribute this to its ability to stave off OTKs with Loading... 's GY protection and Loading... 's ability to re-summon itself. The ability to survive is important since they can use Loading... for follow-up by re-setting Loading... and fusing freely.

Shaddoll is powerful, consistent, and flexible with its combos, being able to go first and second against most decks in the metagame. For these reasons it will keep sharing its Tier 1 spot with Despia.

Tier 2

Ancient Gear has an answer for any situaion against almost any deck (aside from Gusto and going first in the mirror). Going first it can protect itself either with floodgates like Loading... / Loading... or survival handtraps like Loading... / Loading... for the Turn 3 OTK. It also has its explosive OTK going second thats effective against every deck (even Gusto with enough techs), since Loading... insulates your Ancient Gears. As such, I would say that Ancient Gear has a decent matchup speead across the field (aside from the previous-ly stated scenarios).
