A Word FromHello all, with the combination of late week banlist adjustments and new BOX announcements. This week we're going to have a TPC reaction on the new BOX before they come out.
New BOX Decks
TPC Comments
Some of the cards Ancient Gear received are new even to the TCG, where they have seen success due to their high OTK-ability as a blind-second deck. In a format where you can't choose to go second, however, Ancient Gear will struggle when they are forced to go first. That being said, Ancient Gear players can adapt by running flexible techs like Loading... or add easily-searchable targets for survivability like Loading... off of Loading... . I can see this deck having a solid representation and steal a lot of games (even in a KC Cup format), but it's a matter of how the playerbase will solve their going-first problem.
Ancient Gear is one of the best OTK decks in the TCG, with the ability to push damage while also denying the opponent from activating their effects.
The deck has:
Loading... - Prevents the opponent from targeting or destroying your monsters with effects during the turn they were Summoned, protecting your monsters from Loading... and Loading... , it also denies responses to their on-summon effects.
Loading... makes your Loading... -mentioning monsters immune to your opponent's activated effects while also Fusion Summoning a triple-attacking Loading... .
Loading... and Loading... are the best searchers for the deck.
Going first, thie deck aims to survive so it can OTK on the crackback. Currently its has two prospective going-first endboards:
Rank 4 (Loading... / Loading... > Loading... + Loading... for a S/T Negate.
Loading... , which is an unnafected monster that can float into Ancient Gears when destroyed by battle.
In conclusion, I think this deck has great potential to perform well in this upcoming meta.

Exosisters, also known as the "Graveyard Police", can set-up a board that can Banish up to 3 or 4 cards. This board hinges on Loading... , so board-breakers like Loading... and Loading... will prove troublesome. As of right now in Duel Links, we will not have access to Loading... (their best card), so they have to get creative to achieve this endboard.
The Performage version makes the full Exosister board by using Loading... , but it's quite weak to cards like Loading...
The Overlay Control version uses Loading... , which is vulnerable to the more-popular Loading... but the provided Loading... can help with the right hand.
The Spirit version uses Loading... with Loading... and Spiritual Calling , which isn't a one-card combo but has consistency from the Skill.
The pure version aims to use Loading... to Xyz-Summon on the opponents turn, giving Loading... its banish, Loading... its effect negate, and Loading... / Loading... their GY-denial effects.
Exosisters literally dare you to move a card from the GY. Every card in the deck has multiple effects that might be deadly for GY decks, but the real show starts when a card is moved from either GY.
The boss monster Loading... can both Banish a card from your opponent's field and use itself for an Xyz Summon (as Quick Effects). This combos especially well with Loading... to massively disrupt your opponent.
Exosisters should be able to make a strong board going first, but I don't think it will be as strong going second into well-composed boards. However, in my opinion, I think it will do well since a lot of decks in this current meta rely on the GY (I also think Overlay Control will help a lot).
