Introduction

Hello everyone, it's Mizar. Mizzy. The latest box was Destruction Geas, where we got Memento. So I decided to make this guide to help players understand the cards better, faster, and more easily. Since reliable information about this archetype is scattered across the internet, I compiled everything into one place so you can learn it faster and play it better.

Overview

Mementos is a deck built around filling the Graveyard quickly and turning it into a board. Most of its cards send monsters to the GY, and those monsters fuel Memento monsters that can be Special Summoned directly from the GY. Once the GY is loaded, those materials become the big monsters that clean the board and set up a strong follow-up.

Along the way, some cards destroy your own monsters to trigger searches for backrows and hand traps, letting you protect your board from interaction, and make it an easy OTK deck even when going second.

Main Deck Monsters

Is one of the main starters of the deck. Her effect lets you Special Summon Mementos of Level 2 or lower from your Graveyard
Is the miller that quietly carries most of our games Lately it can almost full combo by itself, but its real value is how it turns Angwitch interruptions into smooth lines It won't explode like Angwitch or Dark Blade, yet it is one of the first cards I want to open
Another good starter has an eff to Send any memento from deck which means that any line you do with him, he is an extra CY mill which tends to make more strong combos and also a good going second for poping backrow's
Your boss monster and the card you'll end on with nearly every It is essential whenever you run Cranium Burst or Fracture Dancec and it keeps cards like Mace alive allowing you to take control of one of your opponent's monsters until the end of the turn When you go second, it also serves as an OTK card, dealing 5000 damage directly to your opponent's face thanks to Akihiron's effects Its effect to revive Mementos from the GY is important both for your follow-up and for setting up interruptions such as Dark Blade or Creation King
Can either be used as an extender or as a form of interruption when paired with cards like Bone Party.
This is one of your main Spell/Trap searchers, and is also part of most of your endboards as it represents a quick effect monster snatch, which you can make sure it does not return to your opponent by using that monster as a guardian chimera materia
Another of your millers, however this one can also send spells and traps, only 2 of them tho It also doubles as a starter, but is not ideal as a starter, a combo piece that you only need 1 of
Main way to make use of your mills, as when it is milled, it can Special itself to then also add any memento card from your GY, incredibly useful a combo piece that you only need 1 of
Shleepy is part of the INFO set and is a huge upgrade to this deck, It is able to summon itself whenever you have popped your monsters this turn, which means you only need to search it, and it gives you an extra fusion summmon, it enables hands that didn't use to be starters into full combo
Akihiron is effectively a second usage of Ghattic. It is an extender that grabs back resources from the GY or Banishment, which is very nice for the deck, as they didn't have ways to recur resources from Banishment. Its summon condition is self-sufficient, which makes it easier to use a second time during the opponent's turn to generate advantage.
Great searcher. It pops a Memento on the field or in hand to add 2 monsters, and when popped, it can float into any Memento of Level 6 or lower in the Graveyard. This effect is used to extend or to cycle names you have not used yet.
This not only increases the ceiling of the board through its Foolish 3 effect. It can also Foolish a second copy of itself, which can search your Field Spell, and is a good interruption on the field that helps facilitate the rest of your board. I recommend playing 3 copies in order to be able to send 1 copy of itself with its effect. Deck and Extra Deck.

The Spells + Traps

Your archetypal Fusion card. Its biggest benefit is being a Quick-Play, which lets you set up Guardian Chimera plays with it or dodge interruptions. It helps you play through interruptions.
Your Memento monster battles, your opponent cannot activate any Spell/Trap Cards until the end of the turn...
The emergency of this archetype and an incredible card. It can be used to dodge and play through interaction, as a starter, or even as an endboard piece or interruption alongside Horned Dragon. Mandatory of 3
Cranium Burst turns your Combined Creation into a monster negate, giving it up to 5 negates. It also forces your opponent to battle your highest-ATK Memento, which protects your other board pieces so they cannot be threatened by a forced Battle Phase.
