Overview

In case you missed it, This Week's Meta Weekly was a foray into an experimental format: 13 Rounds of Best-of-1 Matches into a Bo3 Top 32 with Side Deck. In the end, former TPC member Psych0P took home the gold with some frankly impressive Elementsaber play, besting Harry's HEROs in a 2-0 victory. If you want to relive the Finals you can do so here.

Interview with Psych0P

How long have you been playing Duel Links?

I've been playing for one and a half years

It was the time that Vampires were one of the best decks (Vampires were the first deck that got me into competitive Duel Links), not only because I like the deck, but because after that with Koa'ki Meiru and Six Samurai Duel Links fell a lot. Before that we had Vampires, Amazoness, HEROs etc. The format was versatile. I would also like this format more than anything, if only Crystrons wouldnt exist: it is the deck that ruins the balance of the format

So DLM has been experimenting with formats, how was your experience?

It was a good idea that could be executed better. I didn't like that it was taking so much time to even start Top 32.

What do you think about this meta? How did it influence your deck choice?

Trash format, Crystrons rule and it is the best deck that cannot usually be answered. That did not influence my deck choice, however. I expected tons of Blackwings that's why I play Elementsabers with that list.

What were your best matchups? Your toughest matchups?

Blackwings were my best matchup, Dark Magician was my worst

Simple, I would destroy Crystrons. No massive gutting but a bigger nerf than Loading... to 2. To be honest, I'm not exactly sure what the best nerf is, but Rion to 2 wasn't enough.
