Overview
In case you missed it, This Week's Meta Weekly was a wild one: actually taking place over two days offstream due to the unwelcome intervention of internet troubles and maintenance. After the dust settled, Yung_Whale's lone Yosenju Deck stood above all else, defeating both Negative1's Crystrons in the Semi-Finals and Nelliel's Shiranui in the Finals! We wanted to take a second of his time and talk to him about who he is and his tournament expercience. So, without futher ado, let's get started with our first champion interview!
Interview with Yung_Whale
Anything you want to tell us about yourself?
I am 26 from the UK I have a fiance and two beautiful children. I joined Duel Links in January 2019 and quit in March 2019. I returned in February 2020 and enjoyed it ten times more the second time around. Being a part of the Duel Links Meta Discord was paramount to me sticking around and playing. Without the Discord I would be aimlessly playing ladder waiting for a KC Cup.
What's your favourite deck in Duel Links and why?
Hmm I'm a sucker for off-meta decks. So I guess anything off-meta
What do you think about this meta? How did it influence your deck choice?
I have no issue with the current meta. Near enough every deck uses the Graveyard so that certainly influenced Shadow Game . I know Crystrons are popular right now and Yosenju's best match-up is Crystrons.
Lastly, do you have any Shout-outs you would like to make?
My brother plays the game Kaneki. Shares the same passion for the game & I cannot wait for him to start streaming.
Shout-out to everyone at WoR and RNG!
Shout-out to everyone using off meta decks. Yosenju won a Meta Weekly with nearly 200 participants. If Yosenju can you can.
Thank you every one at DLM for keeping the wheels turning and the fire burning. Great community.
