Overview

In case you missed it, This Week's Meta Weekly saw the return to Best-of-3 Format, and feaatured a wide variety of Decks reaching Top 32, from Dragunity to Worms! However, in the end, we had Prince-K and his Blue-Eyes clawing his way through Z-ARC's Blackwings in a grueling three-game slugfest.

Interview with Prince-K

Anything you want to tell us about yourself? What's your history with the game?

I fell in love with Yu-Gi-Oh! back when I was a child, I traded and played with my friends at school. In the TCG I was only active for a year when Monarchs were around. Last year, a friend introduced me to Duel Links and got me right back into the game.

Congratulations on your win! How does it feel?

It was an incredible feeling. I still can't believe I won the Meta Weekly, with the first deck I built in Duel Links nonetheless.

How do you feel about the post-banlist meta? Why did you go with Blue-Eyes?

I think the last banlist did a good job at balancing the metagame. I chose Blue-Eyes, because I saw success with it in the past Anytime season and therefore knew about its potential. Also it won us the deciding game in the last Clan Wars match, taking us to LCQ. After the recent banlist, I felt like Blue-Eyes got even stronger, so I tried and it worked.

Anything you'd like to say about your Decklist?

I went with an unusual 23-card deck, because previously I felt I got caught with too many Loading... in my hand. I tried to balance the ratios this way to brick less.

I want better new boxes from Konami, the last few were a little dissappointing and didn't shift the meta enough in my opinion. Also it would be great, if the random coin flip could be replaced with an option to go first / second, chosen by one of the players - like in the TCG.

Lastly, do you have any Shoutouts you would like to make?

I would like to shoutout my friends at Armades Army for the incredible support I've received. Also shoutout to all the players who talked negatively about me, thank you for fueling my motivation. Greetings from the Meta Weekly and Anytime Champion. Peace.
