In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly solidified our post-Selection Box meta, with both Blue-Eyes and Noble Knights popping up all over Top 32. This was no more exemplified than the Noble Knight mirror in the Finals, with Fermin taking the title.

Interview with Fermin

How do does it feel to win your first Meta Weekly?

The truth is the feeling is incredible. Since I started playing competitively winning a Meta Weekly was one of my goals. Little by little, I kept building my decks and training with this goal in mind, so for me it's a dream come true

Anything you'd like to tell us about yourself?

I am 23 years old. I started playing Duel Links two years ago but only started playing competitively since April 2020. I have never played the TCG but I would like to try it one day.

What do you think of the Selection Box meta? Why did you go with Noble Knights?

The meta is interesting, Loading... is a game-changer, being included in almost all decks. I played Noble Knights this tournament because I think it's the most consistent deck in the game right now.

How did the day go for you, any notable matchups?

Everything went well, but my most complicated game was in the Semi-Finals vs Blue-Eyes. In the first game, I went second against Loading... and 3 Trap Cards. However, I knew how to make my plays and was able to win. I think if I hadn't won that game I wouldn't have won the Meta Weekly.

Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices? Would you make any changes?

I would not change anything about my decklist. Many have ask why I included Loading... and the answer is simple: I got tired of going second and losing. Everything was easier with Trunade.

Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience?

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the DLM team for creating these tournaments. They do a great job and the moderators are very friendly and helpful.

Lastly, do you have any shout-outs you would like to make?

Thanks to God, my Clan mates from Universe 7, the leaders Stark and Coloxo17, SuperViz, and Umrb15 who always help me train. I would like to mention everyone but there are far too many, so I'll just thank everyone!
