Overview

In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first Meta Weekly post-Banlist. In the finals, we had a three-game slugfest between

's Abyss Actors and 's Phantom Knights, with Davide Magri coming out on top!

Interview with Davide Magri

How does it feel to win this Meta Weekly?

It's honestly bittersweet. While on one hand I'm happy about finally winning a MW, which I actually never did before (Didn't even get to a finals, all of my preparation went to Meta Freeklies), on the other, I do realize I won a 48-player event, which doesn't exactly scream "Accomplishment". Duel Links is honestly in a fairly decent spot right now, I feel like more people should be playing the game and raise the amount of competition out there, since seeing this few people in an event which used to regularly have 100+ players does feel kind of sad.

How did the day go for you? Any notable matchups?

My round 3 match against

and his Buster Blader absolutely takes the cake. He drew 3 Buster Bladers and Loading... , while I drew two Loading... s, Loading... and Loading... . We kept passing back and forth and it took so long for me to unbrick that he even managed to discard all the fusion material to hand size limit. Eventually, I unbricked and took it, but passing back and forth for probably more than 10 turns was my highlight of the day.

Anything you'd like to say about your decklist?

I first-timed the deck and net-decked it off of the KC Cup winning list. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience?

As I said before, don't let this game die. This goes for both organizers and players, be it in DLM, ehm, sorry, DMC, or anywhere else out there. We invested so much time into this, we created a insert adjective that fits the situation community, and we genuinely had fun meeting people through this children's virtual card game. While it looks rough in terms of playerbase in competitive events, I know that people willing to play the game are still out there, my only message for them is: play tournaments. It helps you becoming a better player, it helps organizers, it helps everyone. We're all in a toxic relationship with Yu-Gi-Oh! anyways, might as well embrace it.

Lastly, do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?

Big shoutouts to everyone that supported me throughout the run, everyone in APK +

, massive shoutouts to for literally staying awake til 5am to help out discussing plays, and to Dave for lending me his account for this event since I'm missing 1 Loading... in mine lmaopal.

Also, go check out VSPN Entertainment.

Lastly, the obligatory #TuuckFaaha. Because yes.
