Meta Weekly 214 Champion Spotlight - Tenma
Overview
In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the KC Cup no-side Weekly. In the finals, we had a swift 2-0 from
's Buster Blader over 's Thunder Dragons.Interview with Tenma
How does it feel to win this Meta Weekly?
It feels great! I hadn't played in a while in one and today I finally had the chance. I wasn't expecting to win it because I still feel really rusty but I did have luck on my side today to compensate for it
What was your approach to this No-Side Weekly?
I have always enjoyed non-side events because they make you think twice on what you want to Main Deck. I played generic spells and traps and opted for consistency rather than spicy techs.
Why did you go with Buster Blader this Weekly?
I wanted to play a deck that had a favourable matchup vs some of the top decks like Gaia and Magnets, thus Buster Blader looked like the best choice. Loading... is currently incredibly strong and hurts almost every deck.
How did the day go for you? Any notable matchups?
The very first match was the toughest one - against
and his Cyber Dragons - and resulted in a loss due to my poor plays. However, that loss helped me when I faced him again in Top 8 and managed to beat him
Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience?
It was fun as usual! I wish the Meta Weeklies, and the MCS, a long life because they're the best run tournaments in the community
Lastly, do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?
I would like to shout out my teammates of Abusement Park and my friends in the community who have helped me test these past few days and have supported me during the tournament. My thanks go to them because they're still the most enjoyable side of this game.
A special shout-out to
, Taaha and Sano who always believe in me
