In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly was the first tournament after the MCS solidified Harpies (frankly obvious based on the balance update) dominance. We had some valiant Melodious showings from Arc-V, but the finals were between two Harpie decks, with TPC member
taking the the crown for the first time despite numerous finals appearances.Interview with trap
How does it feel to win this Meta Weekly?
It feels unreal to be honest, I have gotten to the finals four times and lost so it feels great to finally get the job done.
Why did you go with Harpies this Weekly?
I went with Harpies because it is the best deck.
How did the day go for you? Any notable matchups?
The day started off rocky to say the least… I lost my first round to the mirror match and then had to face my friend
in the second round. He played Witchcrafters and beat me in the first game but I was able to win the next two by getting lucky with Loading... . Furthermore, I faced other players I have a lot of respect for like and who have given me trouble in the past. Moreover, I faced an insane amount of mirror matches which I felt like I could lose any second so its a relief that I was able to grab this win.
Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices?
Before the tournament I was looking through my Twitter and saw a nice decklist from Sakku who won the G1x tournament with 20-card Harpies. I looked at his decklist and opted to main deck Loading... . I think the combination of playing 20 cards and also playing Loading... gave me a great advantage in the mirror match. Therefore, I would not change much about the deck going forward.
