Overview
In case you missed it, this week's Meta Weekly, we had our first tournament with the No-Side KC Cup Format. The meta was similar, although slightly more diverse than what we've seen in the MCS. In the finals, , we had
's Blue-Eyes blasting from the past against 's Onomats, with TPC Alumn coming out on top!Interview with Erikson
How does it feel to win another Meta Weekly?
It feels nice! I didn't expect to win a Meta Weekly in this meta with this deck but hey I'll take it!
Why did you go with Blue-Eyes this Weekly?
Well if you want the highest chances of winning this meta you play Onomat. However, when most of the Top Cut is Onomat, winning usually comes down to RNG, since the mirror isn't very skill-based. I didn't want that so i decided to go with a deck that I've been enjoying at the moment, even though I was aware I might not even Top.
How did the day go for you? Any notable matchups?
The day went fine I'd say. Tech Genus was / is a very tricky matchup since you can't really leave Loading... s face-up on the field or they'll be used as fodder for Loading... , so you have to rely on Loading... and your Extra Deck monsters (going second is also quite difficult but thankfully I pulled through).
Would you like to explain any of your Deck choices?
In my opinion the only flexible spot in the main deck is Loading... but I quite liked it so I don't think I'll be changing much. As for the Extra Deck, Loading... is probably the only flexible spot and the rest is irreplaceable.
Do you have anything else you'd like to say about your Tournament Experience?
Everything was pretty smooth. Thanks to
, and the mods for making these tournaments possible.
Lastly, do you have any shout-outs you'd like to make?
Shout-out to my clan MHC (and a special shoutout to
)! Also shout-out to the guys in the Casual Hero discord, they're pretty chill.
